How to fish it
- 1
Cast and count it down to the depth you want to fish.
- 2
Reel steadily; you should feel a strong buzz in the rod tip.
- 3
Every few turns, rip the rod up and let it flutter back down; strikes often come on the fall.
- 4
Over grass, reel fast enough to tick the tops, and snap it free when it touches.
BigJoe Tips
- Silent versions can work better when fish have heard a lot of rattles.
- Replace thin stock trebles before fishing salt water; jacks straighten them easily.
- Fan-cast to find fish fast, then slow down with other lures once you find them.
Mistakes to avoid
- Letting it sink into rocks or reef and losing it; it sinks faster than you think.
- Reeling so slowly it stops vibrating.
