BigJoe Premium Tactics
A practical fishing system for bait, lures, rigs and terminal tackle. Always check current regulations before fishing.
Live Bait Playbook
Match bait size to the forage and target. Keep bait lively, minimize handling, and change hook placement to control swimming depth. Use circle hooks where required or appropriate.
Artificial Lure Selection
Choose profile and running depth first, then color. Topwater for active shallow fish; diving plugs for edges; soft plastics for controlled presentations; metal and vertical jigs for depth and current.
Rig Library
Core setups include free-line live bait, fish-finder/sliding sinker, knocker rig, Carolina-style bottom rig, popping-cork rig, sabiki bait rig, trolling leader and vertical-jig leader.
Leader & Terminal Tackle
Match leader strength and abrasion resistance to structure and species. Inspect knots, hooks, swivels and leader after every fish or contact with reef, mangrove roots or teeth.
BigJoe Tip
Carry fewer rigs, but carry them pre-tied. A labeled rig wallet saves fishing time and makes it easier to change when current, depth or target species changes.
