Step-by-step build instructions

  1. 1

Put a slinky or pencil weight on a slider on the main line.

  2. 2

Tie on a small swivel below it.

  3. 3

Tie an 18–36 in leader to the swivel.

  4. 4

Thread the Spin-N-Glo and 1–2 beads onto the leader.

  5. 5

Tie the hook and add a small bait.

  6. 6

Cast across and let it drift down, ticking the bottom.

BigJoe Tips

  • Adjust the weight until it ticks, not drags, the bottom.
  • Bright colors in stained water.
  • Follow the drift with the rod tip.
  • Beads keep the body from jamming on the knot.

Variations

  • Use it under a float in slow pools.
  • Run it behind a three-way for catfish.
  • Corky floats instead of a Spin-N-Glo.
  • Scent on the yarn.
