Lake Baccarac and Lake Comedero (Sinaloa, Mexico) Fishing Guide

Baccarac and Comedero are remote Sinaloa reservoirs known for big Florida-strain largemouth bass, fished almost entirely through lodges that handle pickup, boats, guides and permits. Most trips are mainly catch and release, and lake levels drop with drought and seasonal water releases. Sinaloa is under a U.S. 'Do Not Travel' advisory, so read the current advisory before you book.

📍 Sinaloa, Mexico, in the foothills of the Sierra Madre. Lake Baccarac is the reservoir behind Bacurato Dam (Presa Gustavo Díaz Ordaz) on the Río Sinaloa, about 90 miles east of Los Mochis. Lake Comedero is the reservoir behind Presa José López Portillo on the San Lorenzo River in Cosalá municipality, about 90 miles northeast of Mazatlán. Note: Presa Luis Donaldo Colosio is the official name of Huites Dam on the Río Fuerte, a different lake.
