Step-by-step build instructions
- 1

- 2
Tie 4–5 ft of 60–100 lb mono to the swivel.
- 3
Tie the upper dropper loop and snell on a circle hook.
- 4
Tie the lower dropper 18–24 in below with the second hook.
- 5
Tie a loop at the end and add the bank sinker.
- 6
Bait both hooks, drop to the bottom, reel up 2–3 cranks.
BigJoe Tips
- Keep the loops short and stiff so the hooks don’t foul the body.
- Match the sinker to the current so the line stays vertical.
- Two hooks may be over the limit for some species; check the rules.
- Use cut squid on the top hook and fish on the bottom hook to see what bites.
Variations
- Crimp the snoods on crane swivels for very heavy fish.
- Add a third hook for a chicken rig in deep water.
- Use a breakaway sinker link on rough bottom.
- Swap circle hooks for J hooks for amberjack (check rules).
