HARD BAITS & PLUGS
Twitchbait (Sinking)
A lipless, slow-sinking minnow that glides and flashes side to side when twitched, then flutters on the fall; a classic inshore plug in the MirrOlure style.

How to fish it
- 1
Cast and count it down; about one foot per second is a good starting guess for slow sinkers.
- 2
Give short, soft twitches of the rod tip so it darts and flashes.
- 3
Let it sink a beat between twitches; fish often grab it on the drop.
- 4
Change the count to fish shallower over grass or deeper in channels.
BigJoe Tips
- A loop knot is a must; it lets the lipless body glide freely.
- Light line casts these small, dense plugs a long way on calm days.
- If you feel grass on every cast, count less and twitch faster.
Mistakes to avoid
- Ripping it hard like a jerkbait instead of soft twitches.
- Reeling straight back with no pauses, so it never shows its flash.
