How to fish it
- 1
Cast past the spot and let it sink a few seconds to the depth you want.
- 2
Give two or three short, sharp twitches with slack in the line so it darts side to side.
- 3
Pause and let it sink or hang; that is when most fish eat.
- 4
Repeat all the way back, changing the length of the pause until fish tell you what they like.
BigJoe Tips
- Twitch on slack line; pulling on a tight line just drags it forward instead of making it dart.
- Watch your line on the fall; a tick or a jump means a fish ate it.
- Keep a few in different sink speeds or sizes so you can work different depths on the same spot.
Mistakes to avoid
- Reeling it straight in; without twitches and pauses it loses most of its appeal.
- Pausing too short; slow fish need a long hang time.
